Pleated Cuff

Pleats are commonly used in clothing and upholstery where a wide piece of fabric is gathered to a narrower circumference. The pleated cuff is a wide band of fabric that is pleated or gathered and is then stitched to the end of the sleeve.

Zipper Foot

A zipper foot is a specialized presser foot designed for sewing machines to facilitate sewing closely to the zipper teeth. The zipper foot allows to stitch much closer to the zipper teeth compared to a standard presser foot for a neat and professional finish. Zipper foot can also be used to sew piping, trims etc. where it is necessary to sew close to a raised or bulky edge.

Types of Zipper Foot:

Standard Zipper Foot: The standard zipper foot is the most general type of zipper foot and is suitable for regular zippers where the zipper teeth are visible.

Invisible Zipper Foot: Invisible zipper foots are specially designed for insertion of invisible zippers.

Zipper foot can be used to sew different types of zippers and can be easily positioned it to the Right or Left side of the needle. When sewing with the zipper on the right side, attach the shank (the metal rod that holds the presser foot of the machine) to the left pin of zipper foot and when sewing with the zipper on the left side, attach the shank to the right pin of the zipper foot.

Off-Shoulder Silhouette

Off-the shoulder refers to not covering the shoulders. In off-the-shoulder design the garment consists of low neckline, normally elasticated extending around upper part of the arms baring the shoulders. Sometimes it consists of straps or sometimes without anything exposing the collarbone and frequently finished with a wide ruffle around the edge. This style became popular in 1930's and 1940's for the evening gowns and since then also used in blouses, evening dresses and gowns.
