Fusible interfacing canvas is a lightweight textile reinforcement material with heat-activated adhesive on one side. It is generally used to add structure, stiffness, durability and professional finish to all types of fabrics. Easy iron-on application, that is the adhesive on one side provides quick and easy fusible bonding. It is easy to cut and shape as per the project needs and is suitable for tailoring, dressmaking, fashion designing, as a backing in embroidery to prevent stretching etc. It provides structural support and firmness to specific garment parts such as collars, cuffs, necklines, lapels, waistbands etc. by preventing the edges from stretching or flopping.
To use it, measure and cut the interfacing according to your fabric piece, place the adhesive side (rough side) on the wrong side of the fabric, press with a hot iron on medium heat for about ten to fifteen seconds, let cool and the fabric is ready to use.
