Petal Pocket or Tulip Pocket

A petal pocket is the patch pocket which is split into two curved overlapping layers so that it looks like folds as petals. This unique pocket shape can be seen on dresses, coats or bags.

Jetted Pocket

Jetted pockets are slit pockets (as the outside of the pocket only appears as a slit) in which the pocket pouch sits inside the garment rather than sewn outside. The really visible part of the pocket is the two thin strips of fabric same as the garment itself and the pouch hangs inside. This pocket is most appropriate for formal wear as the only visible part of the pocket is a very thin trimming.

The jet pocket with flap which runs through the full width of the pocket and has curved corners. This style is common on garments like skirt, coats, blazers etc.

Kangaroo Pocket

The Kangaroo pockets are patch pockets which and are commonly used on the front center of hoodie or sweatshirt. They can be in the form of single continuous pocket or a zipper separating it as two individual pockets. It forms a perfect place to keep the items such as keys, cell phones or hands etc.

Pencil Pocket

The patch pocket on the upper part of sleeve of snorkel or sport jacket which is used to hold small items or pencil.

Patch With Tab

The patch with tab is a patch pocket in which the tab and buttonhead is used for decoration purpose.

Inverted Pleat Pocket

The Inverted Pleat is the reverse of box pleat type in which a pleat is formed by bringing two folded edges towards each other or to a center point.

Slip Stitch

The slip stitch is nearly invisible stitch formed by slipping the thread under the fold of the fabric. It can be used to join two folded edges or one folded edge to a flat side.

An even slip stitch is used to join two folded edges.

Fasten thread to the needle and bring needle and thread out through one folded edge.

Then slip the needle through fold of opposite edge bring the needle out (about half inch) and draw the thread through.

Continue to slip the needle and thread through the opposite folded edges. This is the easy and fast way to stitch a seam. upholstery etc.
