A bell sleeve is short or long sleeve made narrow at the top, set into the normal armhole and flaring at the lower edge resembling a bell. This style was introduced in the second half of 19th century and often used in dresses (especially Bohemian), blouses, tunics, evening wear, casual tops, knit wear etc.
