Cable Stitch

Cable stitch is also called as Alternating Stem Stitch or Side-to-Side Stem Stitch. It is an easy stitch used for curved outlines and for narrow borders. The stitch creates a line with a bricked appearance.

Bring the needle up at 'a'. Insert it at 'b' and bring it up in the center at 'c' and pull through so that the thread loop lies below the needle.

Insert the needle at 'd' and bring it back up at 'b' keeping the thread loop above the needle.

Next, keeping the thread loop below the needle insert at 'e' and come up at 'd'.

Repeat this pattern till the end of the row.
