Built up Neckline

 This is a neckline that extends upwards beyond the neck. The garment is worn by pulling it over the head. This style is generally seen in warm cloths such as coat, jacket, sweater, jumper, jerseys, fleece etc.

A proper Funnel neck style by its name as funnel shape (the extension widens as it extends from the base of the neck just like a funnel) is the extension of the actual garment and is not sewn as separate extension of the neckline.

A Turtleneck (polo neck) has a close-fitting collar that folds over and covers the neck.

Nlyon Tape Fastner

The nylon tape is composed of two stripes, one with the looped and other with the tiny, hooked surface. When pressed together the surfaces grip together and bind temporarily until they are pulled apart.

They are used for securing things and the tapes can be cut to one's needs. The tape comes in sew-on, stick-on and iron-on forms. It can be used to replace zippers and buttons, in detachable trims, upholstery, pillow covers etc.

Fabric Glue

 

When sewing is not an option or it's hard to sew, a good quality fabric glue can be used and is just as effective as sewing.

Fabric glues form a clear permanent bond, and the fabric can be washed as norm.

Buttons

 Buttons are tiny and usually disc shaped structures used as a fastener or for decoration in clothing. It can be made of any material such as plastic, metal, wood, shell, resin etc.

There are basically two types of buttons, they are sew-through and shank button.

Shank buttons have a solid top layer and a shank beneath it to attach to the fabric.

Sew-through buttons have holes in them either two or four through which the button is sewn into fabric.

Jeans buttons also called as rivets have two separate parts a pin position and a button top which are not sewn into the fabric but are positioned and then hammered together. A buttonhole for it is then created by hand or machine.

Self-covered buttons are covered with the fabric usually the same fabric as that of the main body of the garment.

One Shoulder Neckline

This is an asymmetrical neckline that is two different silhouettes (outline or general shape) on each side of your shoulders. This style is unique, versatile and eye catching. It is perfect for curvy figure as it highlights the beautiful curves mostly seen in evening dresses.

Cowl Neckline

This neckline consists of loosely draped fabric (rounded folds) around the collar bone. This type of neckline is often seen in knit tops, sweaters and dresses. Variations of the cowl neckline includes high cowl, wide cowl and cowl inset.

Inset Neckline

Inset means a thing that is put in or inserted so this is a neckline with a decorative inset. A lace inset gives a delicate and romantic look to the neckline.
